Project Overview
Our goal is to develop a product that enhances the thermal, lighting, and acoustic environment inside medical tents during domestic emergencies, benefiting both medical staff and patients. The solution involves creating heat-exchanging curtains that regulate temperature while also optimizing lighting and sound levels, contributing to a more comfortable and efficient care environment.
Sub Teams
Electrical
This team works to develop the “nervous system” of our device. This means anything that requires electrical connections and coding to control the active system elements is the specialty of the electrical team on MTEC. These tasks include gathering input data from the sensors in the device, using those sensor inputs to help control the device, UI development, and power allocation.
Mechanical
This team focuses on the heating component of the temperature controls of the heat exchange curtains. This team is working to optimize the heat exchange between the curtain and the ambient air environment of the medical tent. This experimentation includes material selection and testing design, with research-backed evidence focusing on the fluids.
