I was drawn to the IGS Enterprise because it involves a lot of real life application for things learned in school. One thing that I like about IGS in particular is the fact that it’s small size allows me to take on leadership in many ways despite being a first year.

I joined IGS my second year at Michigan Tech. I wanted to work on an enterprise project that was directly related to my major and would also benefit people’s lives around the world. I hope to gain experience that will help me to be a better Biomedical Engineer. I am the IGS President so I work to establish stakeholders around the world and develop new projects. I also work to recruit new members and constantly improve our Enterprise. I also work as a member of the team to design, develop, and engineer solutions for developing countries. I like how I am able to collaborate to students from many different majors to develop solutions that help people.

I am a 4th year biomedical engineering from Shelbyville, MI. I joined IGS because I was intrigued by the involvement opportunities that came with the enterprise. IGS has allowed me to apply my passion for healthcare to hands-on projects that are purely designed for areas in need. I am currently the team lead of our cold vaccine container project where we have designed a container that can be used for proper vaccine transportation across rural areas of Nigeria. My favorite part of IGS since I have joined is that the projects are student-led from start to finish! It has allowed our team to work well together as a team and as peers!

The reason I joined IGS was that I wanted to make a change somewhere in the world. All of the IGS projects have merit and tackle real world issues. I wanted to join a group of like minded individuals who’s goal is to try and make the world a better place. That’s what I found in IGS.

I am from a small farm town in the middle of Illinois, and am finishing up my last semester with IGS. I joined this enterprise two and half years ago so that I would be able to work on projects that impact other human lives and to learn more about the biomedical field. Primarily I am assigned to design and fabrication tasks, but regularly discuss new project ideas and procedures. I really like the members of IGS as they are an open fun group of students.

I joined IGS because I wanted to get involved in an Enterprise and wanted to do something that would give back to the community in a global way. I’m a member on the passive team and a member on the continuous improvement subteam. I like that we get to decide which projects we want to work on and seeing the impact that it will have for people.

I am a third year mechanical engineering student. I joined IGS so that I could immediately make an impact on issues that are important to me. I work on the refrigeration systems of the Active Team vaccine refrigerator. I like how the smaller size allows the younger and newer members to immediately make an impact.
