I joined IGS because I love how it focuses on engineering solutions for developing countries. I have been to Belize, The Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Mexico on Service trips, so this global outreach was something that really interested me.
IGS offers a great opportunity to help those in need, while at the same time it enhances my engineering and teamwork skills. The others in the program are all helpful and supportive making it a great atmosphere to grow and learn.
The reason I joined IGS was that I wanted to make a change somewhere in the world. All of the IGS projects have merit and tackle real world issues. I wanted to join a group of like minded individuals who’s goal is to try and make the world a better place. That’s what I found in IGS.

I was drawn to the IGS Enterprise because it involves a lot of real life application for things learned in school. One thing that I like about IGS in particular is the fact that it’s small size allows me to take on leadership in many ways despite being a first year.
I came across IGS the spring of 2016 after becoming interested in design thinking and human centered design. I wanted to be a part of something that utilized these methodologies to make a difference. IGS has the values and community that align with this interest and allows me to pursue my passion.
I joined IGS to gain insight into what a Mechanical Engineer can do in the medical community. I hope to one day establish a career in this field.
